I'm not a hockey mom, or a soccer mom. In fact we were asked to leave soccer when Evan arranged the field cones all in a straight line, thus confusing not only the opposing team, but the home one as well. I am more of a Vacuum Cleaner, Fan Spinning, Tornado Watch, Arranging Objects In An Orderly Fashion Mom, and yes, I wear lipstick. Mostly red in case you were wondering.
Now this is not a political blog, I think we covered that during the conventions...however, when I learned that Sarah Palin (who wants to be my friend and advocate in the White House) and John McCain would be speaking an hour from my house, I knew I was going and taking Evan with. And when I found out my mom and two of her barn buddies (plus a brother to even out the male code) were going as well, it made it all the more fun. Not because I am endorsing a candidate, but because I was hoping Cindy McCain would be there in a fabulous couture dress (she wasn't, but Todd Palin was, and he is kinda hot)
Oh, and because as a Vacuum Cleaner, Fan Spinning, Tornado Watch, Arranging Objects In An Orderly Fashion Mom I have made it a mission in my life to try and expose Evan to as many historical and cultural events and experiences that I can, and this fit the bill perfectly. No matter the outcome of this election, history will be made, for better or for worse, that will be determined months or years from now, but because this is America, my country, my son's country, where we have that freedom to vote (or in Ward's case the freedom to choose NOT to vote) and how awesome that I can have that opportunity to be able to expose my son to such things.

Here we are waiting in line. I drew an arrow and marked it with an us in case you can't see that well.

Evan outside the Veteran's Memorial
Sarah looked pretty cute in her half up half down do...her cobalt 3/4 sleeved jacket (which is not only the name of Evan's favorite car (tricked out Chevy Cobalt) but his favorite gum!)
and black SKINNY pants. And she stood for 2 hours in those heels.
Again, cute jacket, and cute husband!

The inverted bell cuffs on the sleeves are a super duper cute fashion do! Love it Sarah! Also love the big buttons!

However, I must say this is a big fashion don't.

6 you say:
I'm no fashion freak myself. I avoid lipstick now that I am permanently wearing a retainer, too much goo.
Questions:-
What is a barn buddy?
What is a cheesehead? [that sounds very rude]
Cheers
barn buddy- the ladies that board their horses at the same barn as my mom
cheeseheads are hats shaped like cheese wedges that people in Wisconsin like to wear during green Bay Packer Games and political rallies.
You crack me up! This line, though, made me snort water out my nose...
"... I was hoping Cindy McCain would be there in a fabulous couture dress (she wasn't, but Todd Palin was, and he is kinda hot)" My first thought was, "WHAT!!! Todd Palin was in a dress??" ;-)
Hey... It took me a long time to make that dress.
Love your fashion critique.
I used to wear lipstick until I got lip wrinkles and the lipstick bleeds up to my nose.
Great jacket! and yes, big fashion don't... but then I'm also a big fashion dont! LMAO!!!
